Electronic Engineer

Lead technology division and drive innovation within Chakra Suthra. Key responsibilities would be to 1). Handle hardware maintenance and troubleshooting of the smart recycling bins to ensure uninterrupted service to the customers who recycle and to 2). Direct, manage and verify the development of the Trash2Cash app, and associated systems. The role will be 50% field based, 50% desk based.

Chakra Suthra’s core product Trash2cash is a tech-based recycling platform that consist of a network of smart recycling bins and an on-demand app-based home collection system.

The Role

Hardware maintenance and troubleshooting

Maintain and service smart recycling bins deployed in several places in Colombo and Negombo
Troubleshoot hardware and software related issues on the smart recycling bins
Researching solutions, designing, simulating, developing, prototyping electronic systems
Constantly monitor portal for breakdowns and attend to them immediately
Liaise with foreign hardware/ software suppliers for troubleshooting and additional developments

Management of App development

Understand the market and customer requirements and direct/ manage the Trash2Cash app development and improvements together with the app development partner
Test and verify app features before deployment

Other

Drive the implementation of robust data management and security practices to protect customer information and maintain compliance
Manage the day to day technology requirements of the company
Record analyze and report data

Requirements/ skills/ qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or related field.
One or more years of experience with electronic product design (R&D) environments.
Have basic software skills to maintain, debug and root cause analyze backend, frontend, mobile app software solutions
Basic Understanding of mechanical systems and components
Conduct regular field visits for maintenance and troubleshooting requirements
Own mode of transport (bike) to conduct field visits (allowance provided)
Conversational English
Understanding of the recycling industry
